New Year News from Yearle
New Year News from Yearle Thank goodness January is over!!

As you can imagine the weather has dominated our lives for weeks now. We had about 2 foot of level snow and our steading suffered great damage with buildings collapsing under the sheer weight of snow. The photo shows our neighbours sheep shed - amazingly there were very few fatalities.
The sows were much happier in the deep snow rather than the mud they had been enduring for weeks previously. I did have 2 sows abort which I completely put down to the prolonged wet spell in December and then deep snow in January.
As a result a now have a gap in my farrowing pattern - no piglets will be born in March - which is a nuisance as my order book is filling up!
I will be able to announce May course dates in about 2 weeks time.
